Who can blame us though? Zombies and media go together like peanut butter and jelly!

1. “You’ve Got Red on You.” – Shaun of the Dead
Shaun of the Dead is the perfect funny zombie movie. It’s cheeky, hilarious, and horrifying in equal measure.
At the beginning of the movie, the film sets up a joke that they come back around on near the film’s climax when Nick Frost’s character notes in a very deadpan fashion that Simon Pegg’s red pen has leaked onto his shirt.
You have to see the delivery these two actors leverage to really get a laugh out of it but believe us when we say, it’s hilarious.
2. “We’re Sitting Here… Like Sitting Ducks.” – Rise of the Zombies
Danny Trejo’s “Rise of the Zombies” is just about as dumb as the quote we’ve just shared with you. Through its dumbness though comes a nearly infinite amount of laughs that will make you debate having a repeat viewing of this cult classic.
Rest assured that Danny doesn’t “sit around like a sitting duck” for long in this film. He gets up and hacks and slashes his way through the apocalypse as you’d expect.
3. “You’re All Going to Die Down Here.” – Resident Evil
That little hologram girl in Resident Evil is just about the most annoying thing on the planet.
Is she friendly? Is she the enemy? Make up your mind already you HAL 9000 rip off!
We digress…
This quote gave us a good laugh when we heard it because it’s like, “Yeah little girl, we’ve been fighting zombies underground for hours. A ton of us have already died, we get that we’re probably going to die. Tell us something we don’t know.”
Dumb hologram.
4. “They’re Coming to Get You, Barbra.” – Night of the Living Dead
Night of the Living Dead is a quintessential watch when it comes to zombie movies. While NOLD is not typically cited on a funny zombie movie list, it does have its chuckle-worthy moments.
When Barbra’s brother, Ben, teases his sister that the living dead are going to get her, we get a good laugh out of the fact that about 60 seconds later he gets his face eaten off by a zombie.
Talk about irony.
5. “He’s Got an Arm Off!” – Shaun of the Dead
Yet another Shaun of the Dead quote makes it onto our funny zombie movie quotes list. Shocker!
Not really given that Shaun of the Dead is probably the funniest zombie movie of all time…
When this quote is uttered by Simon Pegg, he and his best friend see a zombie for the first time and their objective reaction to its appearance (the zombie is missing an arm) is priceless.
6. The First Rule of Zombieland; Cardio. When the Zombie Outbreak First Hit, the First to Go, for Obvious Reasons… Were the Fatties. – Zombieland
Jesse Eisenberg has had a roller coaster of a career that’s sitting in pieces at the moment thanks to his ill-advised turn as Lex Luther in Batman V. Superman.
One of his highlights before that travesty though was his turn as a Zombie survivalist in Zombieland.
During the film, Jesse goes over different survivalist rules that would be right at home on a doomsday preparation site like, Canadian Prepper. The rule quoted above is our favorite of many cited in the film!
7. “When There’s No More Room in Hell the Dead Will Walk the Earth.” – Dawn of the Dead
We won’t lie to you… This quote definitely made us laugh for the wrong reasons.
Dawn of the Dead is a straightforward zombie drama by Zack Snyder (probably the last good film he directed) and in one of the film’s most quoted scenes, a character says what we’ve listed above.
The idea of hell overflowing and spilling out onto earth gave us chills and made us laugh to break the tension of that horrendous image.
Again, this film is a drama people. Don’t pick it up for your funny zombie movie marathon or you might make kids cry.
